Read MoreEmu Properties has put together a small selection of independently owned eateries dashed across Norwich City which we believe you need to know about in 2020 (if you don’t already). In no specific order, these are our top 5 favourite places based on price, quality and service.

Do you remember that trip to Naples, Italy? If not, never mind, as this little pizza shop has a lot to offer when it comes to making delicious authentic Neapolitan pizza. From the cosy atmosphere in the restaurant to the smell of slow rising doe cooking away in the 500°c Italian wood-burning brick oven, you know you’re in the right place.
Our favourites are; The classic margarita accompanied by a garlic pizza and followed with an ice-cold Sanpellegrino.
33 Exchange Street, Norwich, NR2 1DP / http://www.no33cafe.co.uk/

This popular cafe has a large selection of, well everything. For breakfast, you can choose from American style pancakes with a selection of toppings to salmon benedict or if your not an early riser and lunch is your thing, then maybe some sweetcorn fritter stacks or a No.33 club sandwich will do the trick. Freshly ground barista-made coffee and bountiful sized slices of cake are what keeps us hooked on this hotspot.
Our favourites are; Victoria Sponge with Mascarpone and Fresh Fruit Topping, Vanilla, White Chocolate and Berry, Lemon and Poppyseed Cake, Lemon Drizzle, Mocha and Hazelnut, Coffee and Walnut, Chocolate and Raspberry, Cherry Bakewell, Chocolate Orange, Double Chocolate, Chocolate Banana Cake, Carrot Cake, Double Chocolate and last but not least the Chocolate Brownies.
There is sometimes a small wait to secure a seat in this cafe but its worth it and you can’t blame the people for having good taste.

Another meat-free alternative, this open-air market stall boasts a large selection of dishes and a place to sit whilst you enjoy your meal. Even if you’re not strictly a vegan/vegetarian we recommend working your way across the menu to determine some possibly new flavours to add to your ever-expanding palate.
Our favourites are; The Buffalo Vegetarian Chicken Burger with cajun potatoes and the Shiitake Bulgogi.
13 St Benedicts St, Norwich, NR2 4PE / http://hagglerestaurant.com/

Food glorious food, this Turkish restaurant has the lot, from mouth-watering hot mezze and mangal (charcoal BBQ) to delicious cocktails. On entry, you will feel as though you have been transported to Instanbul due to the on-theme decor. You can really taste the authentic flavours of Turkey throughout all their dishes and we must admit, we haven’t yet tried a dish we wouldn’t recommend.
Our favourites are; Sigara Boregi – rolled yulfka pastry with feta and parsley, Kiymali Pide – oval flatbread with seasoned lamb mince and finally the Bassmangal – whole seabass cooked on the mangal.
We definitely recommend that next time you’re in the city you make a point to stop by and give any (or all) of the above a shot at impressing your tastebuds or quenching that thirst.
Until next time,
Emu Recommends.
